Licensed Veterinary Technicians
Veterinary technicians are highly skilled medical professionals and indispensable members of the veterinary medical team. They are capable of performing a wide variety of duties, including providing life support and intensive care, anesthesia, surgical assistance, dental cleanings, collection and processing of patient samples for laboratory analysis, physical therapy and nutritional counseling.
In New York State, to obtain their license, veterinary technicians must have completed their associates degree in an accredited veterinary technical college program followed by a rigorous state examination for licensure.

Kelly
Kelly Licata lives for veterinary dentistry. It is her identity. And she is very good at it! Kelly has been with us for over 20 years. She graduated from SUNY Delhi in 1994, obtaining her license as a veterinary technician shortly thereafter. Since then, she has been one of the mainstays of our team of LVTs. And Kelly’s skills are not limited to dentistry. She is also a wonderful midwife and pediatric nurse, as well as a skilled surgical assistant and anesthesiology technician. When not at work, God and family are the primary focus of Kelly’s life. But she also breeds miniature poodles, raises chickens, and maintains quite a collection of Oscars, sharks and other assorted fish.
When asked why she come to work each day, Kelly will tell you that she loves veterinary medicine…. almost as much as she loves helping the community and their furry friends.
Kelly, we love your passion for helping all living creatures. And we love your commitment to us.

Brooke
Brooke Licata personifies positive energy! Having graduated from Alfred State’s veterinary technician program in 2019, Brooke is continuing her education by attending SUNY Geneseo‘s science program full-time. She is the proud owner of a miniature poodle (Winnie the Poodle), and dwarf rats (whom she dearly loves). When Brooke isn’t working or going to school, she loves to paint, window shop at pet stores and spend time in her pool. Brooke comes to work to be with her ‘family away from home’. She enjoys working with our community to provide the best quality of care to ‘our furbabies’.
Brooke is competent, compassionate, enthusiastic, and above all cheerful. As you can probably tell. We love our Brooke!

Vivienne
Soft-hearted, hard-working, competent, always ready for a challenge, always ready to help, Viv is a huge asset to the hospital. And she is particularly able to connect with patients on an emotional level,
reducing their apprehension. Viv graduated from Genesee Community College with a degree in accounting in 2006 and went on to complete her degree in veterinary technology at Alfred State University in 2008. Although Viv’s extensive background encompasses all aspects of veterinary medicine, she particularly enjoys the intellectual challenge of internal medicine and diagnostics.
She will tell you she comes to work each day because, very simply, she loves what she does and cannot
imagine herself doing anything else. Viv also loves gardening and, when not at work or looking after her
cats, Fly Girl, Captain Milk Beard, Itzy Bitzy, Mr Muffin Man and Oliver (all rescues), as well as her
rescued Pittie, Bubba Blu, she enjoys maintaining her varied and beautiful gardens.
